Honoring Yazidis By Not Forgetting Their Stories
Eight years ago, the peaceful Yazidi community in Sinjar was confronted with an unspeakable evil that would forever change their lives.
Children's laughter transformed into cries of terror. The sound of bombs and gunfire drowned out pleas for help. Families were forcibly separated. Men and the elderly were shot en masse. Women and children were kidnapped and subjected to the worst horrors of humankind.
Today and every day, we honor Yazidis by not forgetting their stories. We honor survivors by amplifying their voices. We honor the 2,800 women and children still missing by calling for their immediate search and rescue. We honor the memory of those lost by advocating for the expedited exhumation of mass graves.
By empowering women, supporting survivors, facilitating the return of displaced persons, and holding perpetrators accountable, we seek to end the ongoing genocide against the Yazidi community.
For the 8th Anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide, join us in our calls for justice on behalf of Yazidi survivors of genocide and sexual violence.
